India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is also dominating the Sri Lankan car market with Alto being the best seller.
Maruti Suzuki sold 1,373 cars in July 2011. According to data released by the Motor Vehicle Registration Department of Sri Lanka, on an average Maruti/Suzuki sold more than 1,100 units each month.
Tata and Malaysia’s Perodua is at the second spot with Toyota is leading the re-conditioned or imported used car segment. Tata sales have shot especially after the introduction of the Nano.
