Honda is gearing to launch the new CR-V internationally. The company has just released an image which isn’t actually a teaser image or a leaked photograph of the 2012 CR-V instead, but a picture of a tunnel with a beam of light approaching from the other end.
The Honda brands usually discontinues it’s the existing/old model once it launches the new model. We can expect the same in case of the CR-V in India too.
The CR-V in India comes with 2 petrol engine options, a 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre. Well we expect the same engine options on the new models may be a new tune, with higher power and torque figures.
The Diesel engine has been rumoured for long and we hope the company finally launches considering the shift observed in the Indian market.
The new CR-V will have to compete with the BMW X1, Mitsubishi Outlander, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and yet o be launched Audi Q3 in India. Competition is immense and it will cause Honda to price the new CR-V very competitively if it wants to sell in double digit numbers.
