Ford Unveils Facelifted Fiesta

Ford has unveiled the facelifted version of the Fiesta. The car previewed is the hatchback version and not the sedan which is available in India.

Fiesta was launched in 2008 and this is a mid life facelifted before the arrival of the all new model in 2015. The facelifted car gets a Aston martin like front design and is in sync with the design of other ford cars like the Ecosport and the new Mondeo. The new design makes the already good looking car, a lot more appealing. The headlamps are trapezoidal in shape and are equipped with LED lights.

Other changes to the front are the restyled bumper, grille, fog lamp housing  and a large number of cuts and creases that enhances the sportiness of the car. The side profile  though remains the same except for the new sizzling hot looking 8 spoke alloy wheels. Coming to the rear, the tail-lamp cluster is slightly altered and that sums up the changes on the outside.

The interiors are largely similar to the old car and have minor changes such as the piano black finish on the center console, slightly larger glove box and altered position of the buttons. Mechanically the car remains the same but Ford has introduced its award winning 1 litre EcoBoost engine in the Fiesta. EcoBoost engine is known for good power without compromising mileage and could be a hit in India.

Ford has not previewed the facelifted version of Fiesta sedan, but we expect the changes to be carried forward to the sedan very soon. From the Indian perspective, there might be good news in store as the Indian Fiesta could get the Facelift along with the EcoBoost engine as early as 2013
