Nano bookings to open from15th August?

Tata may open the booking to all for the Nano on the 15 August when India will celebrates its 63rd Independence day. This will some good news to all those who want to own a Nano.
Tata has already opened bookings in Kerala from 3rd August to cash on the Onam celebrations and have already received 3000 bookings.
Tata plans to manufacture 20,000 Nano’s by March 2011.
Tata Motors July sales up 41%

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in July 2010 were 67,799 vehicles, a growth of 41% over 48,054 vehicles sold in July 2009. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2010 were 63,558 nos., a 39% growth over 45,599 nos. sold in July last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 249,507 nos., a growth of 46% over 171,168 nos. sold last year.

With the Sanand plant and Tata churning more and more Nano’s, finally Tata Motors will allow the common to get a real feel of the car. Not just see it, but test drive it. Yes, that’s right, Tata Motors will offer Nano test drive to customer.
They have started a online campaign where one can register itself to get a test drive of the cheapest car in the world.
Tata Nano to cost more

Tata Nano more popularly known as 1 lakh car will no more carry the tag of 1 lakh. Tata Motors have increased the price of Nano by nearly Rs. 6,000 due to rising input costs, but will retain the rate promised to the first 1 lakh customers of the low-cost car. The entry-level price of a Nano is Rs 1.23 lakh while a deluxe variant costs Rs 1.72 lakh.
Tata Motors has handed over nearly 45,000 Nano’s since it started delivery last July. It plans to deliver cars to the remainder of 1 lakh customers who were selected through a lottery last year from 2.06 lakh bookings before December.
Tata to make 30,000 Nano’s a month by 2011

After rolling out the Nano from Gujarat, Tata Motors is understood to have scaled up its ambitions and planning to produce around 30,000 units a month by March 2011. According to vendor sources, the company has asked Nano’s component suppliers to triple the volume of supplies from the current levels.
This is some good news to those who want to buy a new Nano. Also Tata is looking to launch the Nano is Nepal and some other countries. This could also be a step so as to avoid waiting periods and make the Nano available readily.
