Nissan doubles Micra production

Nissan India is planning to doubled the production of its small car Micra to 500 units per day in order to clear an order backlog of about 2,500 units. Nissan launched the Micra in July and priced the car with a killer price to take on Marutis’ Swift, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo.
The average daily production is over 500 units, which is expected to increase in near term. Nissan will commence overseas shipments of the car from next month, starting with Europe.
Nissan Micra clocks 928 units

Nissan Motor India said it has registered total sales of 1,005 units in July 2010, with its newly-launched compact car Micra clocking 928 units. Nissan launched the Micra on 14 July and has sold928 units.
Nissan Teana, the luxury sedan (CBU) clocked 27 units and SUV Nissan X-trail registered sales of 50 units.
The Micra, which was opened for bookings prior to its launch in July, has till date received more than 3,000 bookings.
Nissan Micra gets all new website

Nissan India launched its much awaited small car on the 14 July and priced it very competitively in oar with Maruti swift and VW Polo. Nissan also tied up with radio stations as a new marketing initiative.
Nissan has now updated its website and its a lot different form other car makers. Its very interactive but a bit slow and no option for low bandwidth.
Diesel Micra by Nov, Sedan in 2011

After launching the petrol version Micra at a very competitive price Nissan India is planning to launch new models in India. First will be a diesel heart for the Micra which will be launched in November-December and it wil be followed by a sedan based on the same Micra platform.
The automaker plans nine model launches in India in the next couple of years. Tokuyama said five of the nine would be made locally at the company’s Chennai factory with three on the newly-developed ‘V’ compact car platform.
Nissan Micra starts at 3.98 lakhs

Nissan has announced the price of Micra, which starts at Rs. 3.98 lakhs. The Micra will be available in 3 variants XE (Entry), XL (Mid) and XV (Top).
The ex-showroom Delhi prices for Nissan Micra are Rs. 398,000 for XE (entry), Rs.469,500 for XL (mid) and Rs. 528,800 for XV (top) variants respectively.
Nissan Micra will be introduced in a range of six colours; Sunlight Orange, Brick Red, Pacific Blue, Storm White, Blade Silver and Onyx Black.
Nissan Micra competes head on with Maruti Swift and VW Polo.

Nissan opens new dealers, gears for Micra launch

Nissan has opened five new showrooms, Tri-star Nissan – Ludhiana, Sterling Nissan – Gurgaon, EVM Nissan – Calicut, Dada Nissan – Jalandhar and Silicon Nissan – Surat.
With the new dealerships, Nissan has got 15 showrooms across the country that includes 13 state
Nissan India plans to open 30 more dealerships by the end of this fiscal all over the country. In the process of establishing the Nissan brand in India, Nissan Motor India, in partnership with Hover Automotive (its sales, marketing and dealer development arm) is rapidly preparing its dealer network structure to support growth in the country.
At present, the company has 15 dealerships, including recently-opened ones in Ludhiana, Gurgaon, Calicut, Jalandhar and Surat.
