Tata Motors plans hybrid Nano

Tata Group is planning to produce hybrid versions of its Nano, billed as the world’s cheapest car, to join in the environment-friendly trend, its chairman said in an interview with a South Korean newspaper.
Tata Motors, India’s biggest vehicle maker, saw the car industry’s future lying in economic-friendly models, the daily said. The chairman did not elaborate on the possible launch of cheap hybrid versions.
Tata to unveil Xover/Indicruz at 2010 Delhi auto expo

Tata Motors will showcase the much-awaited crossover vehicle Xover/Indicruz at the Indian Auto Expo in New Delhi this January. The vehicle, expected to be priced Rs. 6-8 lakh, will hit the markets in the first half of the 2010 and plug a vital gap in its portfolio.
Tata launches Indigo Manza

Tata Motors launched its new generation sedan, the Tata Indigo MANZA. Built on its new car platform, the Indigo MANZA succeeds the highly successful Tata Indigo, which became a best-seller in the very first year of its launch in 2003 and has since then sold close to 275,000 nos of the range.
The Indigo MANZA is an altogether new car. A complete new body on a new platform houses an all new interior and makes a bold styling statement. With a length of over 4.4m, a width of 1.7m, and a wheel base of 2,520mm, the sedan has grown in size and thus in interior space. The front wraparound three barreled headlamps– one of the most striking headlamp units on any car in India– add to the linearity while giving the Indigo MANZA a feline aggressive appearance.

Goa’s first Nano hits roads

The much awaited Nano has finally hit Goan roads with the keys of the first cars handed over to Ms. Nanda Kare and Mr. Narciva Khandeparker on Friday morning by the Managing Director of Auto Industries, Mr. Baba Naik, in the presence of dealer Accounts Manager, Tata Motors, Mr. Vishal Sharma, Mr. D N Naik, Chairman of Auto Industries, Mr. Santosh Ghodge, General Manager, Sales, among others.
Tata motors had commenced the deliveries of the Tata Nano in July in different towns and cities of the country as dispatches to dealerships have begun from the Patnagar plant.
Company sources informed that that the first one lakh deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the last quarter of 2010, and that all efforts are being made to deliver earlier by ramping up production at Patnagar plant and the upcoming Sanand facility.
The Tata Nano is world cheapest car. Price of its base model is Rs.100,000 ex. factory Pantnagar. The Nano is available in 3 versions: Standrard, CX and LX.
