VW sell 301 Beetles, 6,618 Polo’s since launch

Volkswagen India clocked a total sale of 2,597 in July 2010 in India. The Volkswagen Iconic New Beetle continued its growth path with customer deliveries reaching at 301 units for the period of Jan-July 2010 and the Touareg at 69 units for the same period.
Volkswagen’s entry into the hatchback segment with the New Polo has received an astounding response nationwide. Sales for the New Polo commenced in March 2010 and have so far delivered 6,618 units.
VW to launch Polo 1.6 in October

Volkswagen will launch its small car with more powerful engine. VW Polo 1.6 will hit the roads around October. Volkswagen announced at the 2010 Delhi auto expo that they plan to launch 2 engines for its small car Polo.
Polo 1.6 will come with a 1598cc engine which produces 103.5 bhp at 5250 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 3750 rpm. It will be quicker by 3 seconds and will have a top speed of 183.8 kmph. It gets a electric hydraulic power steering and 0-100 is 11.1 seconds.
Premier Rio launched in Goa

Premier which was known for its Premier Padmini has launched its new SUV Rio in Goa. Along with the launch Premier also has opened a new showroom in Goa. Sonoo Premier is appointed as the new dealer which will take care of all sales and service activities regarding the Rio.
The Premier Rio comes with an 1.4 litre diesel engine. other features include Air conditioning, power steering, power windows, electric door mirrors, remote control locking, split foldable rear seats, Alloy wheels, Anti lock braking system (ABS).
Maruti to add 200 more dealerships

Maruti Suzuki India’s top car-maker, is expanding its distribution network and plans to add 200 more dealerships, as demand has picked up in the auto sector.
The company’s Chief General Manager (Marketing), Shashank Srivastava, said Maruti currently has 800-plus outlets covering more than 500 cities. “Our intention is to take up the number of outlets to 1,000 this fiscal,” he said.
The company is also betting big on the rural market.
Maruti launches ‘Zen Estilo Elite’ in Pune

Maruti Suzuki has launched an all new limited edition of ‘Zen Estilo Elite’ from the Estilo series in Pune. The limited edition with around 15 new features would be available only in the state of Maharashtra other than Mumbai.
The limited edition features bold frontline, enhanced features and a stylised aesthetics. The edition is available in two variants of LXI and VXI in around seven colours.
VW to ramp up Polo production

Volkswagen India said it will ramp up the output of its latest offering, compact car Polo in India to clear order backlog, which has now crossed 5,700 units within two months of launch.
Volkswagen rolled out the Polo hatchback, priced between Rs. 4.34 and Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), in March. It has sold 1,599 units so far, out of a total booking of 7,300 cars. Currently it has a waiting period of up to four months. More >
