Yamaha launches SS125

Yamaha India has launched SS125 motorcycle in India. The SS125 is based on Yamaha Gladiator.
SS125 uses 125cc engine and has max power of 11 bhp. It uses Yamaha Throttle Position Sensor (YTPS) that delivers amazing acceleration. The engine is mated to a five speed gear box.
Other features include Aerodynamic racy under-cow, Sporty Tachometer, Lowered front cowl, Lightweight aluminium wheels, front disc brakes.

Bajaj to re-launch Scooters, new Pulsar in 2011

Bajaj auto which announced the exit from scooter market now plans to re-enter the growing and lucrative market. Bajaj auto is also planning to launch a new model from its Pulsar stable.
The MD said Bajaj was planning to re-launch scooters in the future, considering the growing market in this segment. It would also launch a new model of its Pulsar motorcycle next year, with a completely new look, advanced engine and advanced technology.
Considering the growing scooter market especially after the entry of Mahindra scooters like Rodeo, Duro and Flyte and also with TVS Wego, Bajaj will need to look at this segment seriously and do another Pulsar and Discover magic in the scoter market.
Yamaha to launch SZ on 5th August

Yamaha motor India is planning to add another bike to its portfolio in August. After launching two successful bikes: FZ16 and YZFR15, Yamaha is planning to launch another in the sports segment. SZ16 this is what it could be called will hit the roads on 5th August.
Yamaha SZ concept shown at the 201 Delhi Auto expo may come with a 153cc engine from Yamaha FZ16. This bike will be tuned more for commuting as compared to sport biking.
Yamaha to launch YBR and SZ in India

Yamaha plans to launch the YBR, a 110cc motorcycle on 14 April. This will be followed by the SZ, another model in the 125cc segment, in the second half of the calendar year.
Yamaha eyes deluxe, premium bike segments

India Yamaha Motor said it is eyeing a market share of 20 per cent in the deluxe and premium segments by 2010-end.
The company currently has a market share of 12 per cent in the deluxe segment. The company’s overall domestic market share is around 3.5 per cent, which it now targets to take to 10 per cent by 2012-end.
Bajaj motorcycle sales zoom in March

The country’s second largest two- wheeler maker Bajaj Auto reported 85.12 percent jump in its motorcycle sales at 2,44,828 units in March. The company had sold 1,32,253 units in March last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.
During the entire 2009-10 financial year, the company sold 25,06,749 units in the motorcycle segment, a jump of 31.39 percent over 19,07,853 units in the year-ago period, it added. BAL attributed the growth to robust sales of Pulsar and Discover range of bikes.
