Audi plans small car for India , aims No. 1 in India lux segment

Luxury carmaker Audi’s small car A1 is likely to hit the Indian roads by 2011. The smallest and the least expensive hatchback from the Audi stable, unveiled in the just concluded Geneva Motor Show, will first be launched in Europe this August. It is expected to be priced around €16,000 (about Rs 9.8 lakh).

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, announced a Limited Edition offer on the Audi A6 – 2.7 TDI, to mark its 100 year celebrations. The Limited Edition Audi A6 2.7 TDI will be available at an attractive price of Rs.37,00,000/- (ex-showroom Mumbai) from 1st January 2010.

2011 Audi A8 Unveiled at Miami

The highly anticipated flagship car from the four rings brand, the 2011 Audi A8 was unveiled at Miami recently, ahead of its arrival in UK showrooms next March.

The sporty luxury car features revolutionary features and equipment that is an Audi and Industry first. It has lost the mass and bulk of the current model’s styling, replacing it instead with design themes from the A4. It’s a bigger car than its predecessor and at 5137mm long, 1949mm wide and 1460mm tall, it’s longer and wider than a Mercedes S-class or a BMW 7-series but lower than both. That makes it the biggest car in its class. As with all previous A8s, the car is built from aluminum, and using new alloys has cut 6.5kg from the A8’s weight.

2010 Audi A8 to Debut on 30th November!

Audi is all set to unveil its all-new 2010 A8 flagship during the Design Miami art fair in Florida on 30th November. In order to showcase the new A8, Audi built its own pavilion on Miami Beach that also doubles as a museum. The debut of the A8 will coincide with the opening of “The Art of Progress” exhibit at Design Miami, which Audi claims is inspired by both the new A8 and its own corporate philosophy.

 The chairman of Audi’s board of management, Rupert Stadler, said “The new Audi A8 embodies everything Audi stands for-fascinating innovation, uncompromising perfection, consummate craftsmanship, iconic design, and new ways of thinking. This is why we chose to present this car in this progressive environment while continuing our commitment to fostering design culture and the arts.”

Audi is really pushing the new design of the A8. The New A8 promises to be an ultimate combination of performance, looks, luxury and technology. The flagship Audi luxury sedan will come with a slew of new engines which will include V6 and V8 petrol and some new Hybrid. A high performance model on the lines of the BMW 760Li and Mercedes S600 may also be launched, so expect to see a radical departure from the current A8 the car is unveiled on November 30.

Audi launches facelifted Q7 in India

Audi India launches facelifted Audi Q7 in India. The Audi Q7 was launched in India in 2006 and has since established itself as the numero uno luxury SUV in the country. The new Audi Q7 is unmatched in terms of style, performance, safety, comfort and driving dynamics providing customers the complete driving experience which Audi is known for.

New accents at the front and rear contribute to even more elegant styling and visual impact. New single-frame radiator grill in high gloss black with vertical chrome bars adds robustness to the car in conjunction with new Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights.

The new Audi Q7 also comes with optional high-end headlight version that integrates not only a low beam, high beam, and turning and cornering lights, but for the first time also a special superhighway beam. The restyled tailgate presents a more forceful contour. LEDs are standard equipment in the taillights. An aluminum exterior package adds further highlights to the styling. The S line exterior package is designed for sports-minded customers and is available as an optional equipment.

The new Audi Q7 is powered by highly efficient direct-injection engines and is available in a 3.0 TDI 176 kW (240 hp), 550 Nm torque option, a 3.6 FSI 206 kW (280 hp), 360 Nm torque option and a 4.2 FSI 257 kW (350 hp), 440 Nm torque option.

The new Audi Q7 range starts at (ex-showroom Mumbai) INR 53,40,000 for the 3.0 TDI quattro, INR 55,20,000 for the 3.6 FSI quattro and € 42,696 for the 4.2 FSI quattro (non homologated). The new Audi Q7 is available in an exciting palate of new colors like Ibis White, Teak Brown, Orca Black and Graphite Grey as well as the existing colors which include Deep Black, Bahia Beige, Cobalt Blue, Condor Grey, Ice Silver, Garnet Red and Lava Grey.
