TVS launches Jupiter scooter in Goa

TVS launched its new scooter, Jupiter in Panjim, Goa to further strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing scooter segment. The Jupiter is another feature rich product from the TVS range which offers greater comfort, convenience and first time features.

The new Jupiter is powered by a next generation noise-free, all-aluminum, low-friction 110cc engine that delivers an amazing mix of power, superior acceleration and best in class fuel efficiency. Electric or kick start fires up the powertrain w
hich generates maximum power of 5.88 kW (8 bhp) at 7500 rpm while producing maximum torque of 8 Nm at 5500 rpm, which synthesize to deliver a solid four stroke ride experience. The scooter is equipped with patented Econometer which guides riders in both ‘Eco Mode’ and ‘Power Mode’. The engine delivers best-in-class fuel economy when the rider is in ‘Eco’ mode. This helps the rider to manage and achieve highest possible fuel efficiency from TVS Jupiter.

The metal body is styled to enthuse the male consumer, delivers high performance ride quality and superior ride comfort making it a perfect, sensible runabout. The scooter’s which has a capacity of 5 litres can be filled via an external fuel fill only offered on TVS scooters, for hassle free quick refuelling and protecting contents of the underseat storage area from petrol fumes. The scooter has the largest leg space and comes with retractable front and under-seat bag hooks, which further improve space management. 17 litres of spacious under seat storage facility that can accommodate a full face helmet. An under-seat mobile charger provision allows charging on the go.

Several category first, unique features have been incorporated. For the first time in the scooter segment, Jupiter will come with a pass-by switch, which enables safety and ease of riding on highways. Other motorcycle inspired features include telescopic front shock absorbers and rear gas charged suspensions for supreme ride comfort for both rider and pillion. Low fuel indicator that reminds the rider to consider refueling, when low on fuel.

TVS Jupiter has the brightest headlamp among scooters. It is fitted with unique twin city lamps, and stylish LED tail lamps complete the rear end, that save electrical load on the engine providing better fuel efficiency  apart from high visibility.

The Scooter offers stability with agility thanks to its large wheelbase of 1275 mm makes it one of the most stable scooters in its class with a remarkable turning radius of 1910 mm, amongst the shortest in its peers. Lightweight, all-black, no rust alloy wheels enhances durability while tubeless tyres offer superior road grip.

Other first time features that have been integrated in TVS Jupiter include a stainless steel muffler guard, which adds a dash of flamboyance to the scooter and the patented EZ centre stand which makes parking the scooter almost effortless.

The Jupiter is priced at Rs.45,900 ex-showroom and Rs. 51,600 on-road Goa.

The scooter was launched in the presence of Arun Kumar, regional manager and Aniruddh Halder, general manager, marketing. TVS has two dealers and eight sub dealers in Goa. The company has already received 250 bookings from Goa which reflects positive response from customers.  With the launch of TVS Jupiter, TVS Motor Company becomes the only company to have the widest range of scooters in India, including TVS Wego, the iconic TVS Scooty Pep+ and the snazzy TVS Scooty Streak.
