Mercedes to launch R-Class in India

Mercedes-Benz India will launch yet another model the R-Class in India. Mercedes R-Class is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) first launched in 2006. The R-Class which has just received a facelift will be launched in India just around Diwali reports Autocar India.
The Mercedes-Benz R-class will come in only one variant – the Long Wheel Base R350 4MATIC which has a 3,498cc V6 petrol engine. The R-Class features bi-xenon headlamps, steel spring suspension in front and AIRmatic (Adaptive Intelligent Ride control) system featuring self-leveling air suspension in the rear to aid comfort and improve driving dynamics.
Mercedes to launch M-Class Grand Edition

Mercedes is leaving no stone unturned to keeps its number one place in the Indian market. With a slew of new launches from new models, variants and upgrades of existing models, Mercedes has already held the number position so far in 2010.
Now Mercedes also plans to launch a M-class SUV in a new exterior and interior styling package called the ‘Grand Edition’.
Hyundai to launch Santa Fe by October

Hyundai India has made it official that they will launch the Santa Fe SUV in October. To be priced in the range of Rs. 22-24 lakhs, Hyundai is targeting the festive season in October for the launch.
“We will launch Sante Fe in October-November, ahead of the festive season. If volumes pick up, then we will consider assembling the vehicle here,” said Arvind Saxena, director, (marketing & sales), Hyundai Motor India.
Santa Fe will be launched with a 2.2-litre diesel engine and will have seven seats , as against the earlier five seater. Initially the company plans to import it as completely-built units but if volumes pick up Hyundai may plan to assemble the car.
Maruti to launch limited edition Ritz

Maruti Suzuki India will launch a limited edition of its compact car Ritz today to celebrate the first anniversary in India. , which will cost about Rs. 16,000 more from the existing version. The new edition will be known as ‘Ritz Genus’.
Maruti will produce about 5,000 units of the limited edition, which is based on the current Vxi and Vdi versions, over the next three months in both petrol and diesel options.
Ford to launch 8 new models by 2015

Ford India plans to launch eight new vehicles in India by 2015, said Mr. Joe Hinrichs, President of Ford Asia Pacific and Africa (APA at the annual convention of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. “We have big plans for India and this region. By the middle of this decade we will introduce eight new vehicles from our global platforms, in segments appropriate for this market,” he said. “
By 2012, more than 70 per cent of the vehicles sold under the Ford brand globally will be built off 15 core platforms. By bringing suppliers into the development process earlier, we can ultimately generate more profit for the supply chain,” he said

Honda is planning to launch another hybrid, and this time it is a small car. Honda will launch the Jazz also known as Fit in its hybrid version at the Paris motor show at the end of September. The Jazz hybrid will share many of its components with the Insight, including that car’s 1.3-litre petrol engine-based hybrid powertrain which is paired a CVT transmission.
