Vespa LX 125 gets more affordable, now at Rs. 59,990

Vepsa LX125 price

Piaggio India has announced a price cut on the newly launched Vespa LX125. The good news comes in the first week of the New Year as Piaggio has set a target to sell nearly 100,000 units of the Vespa LX 125 by December.

Vespa LX125 has seen a fewer takers then expected mainly due to the high price tag of Rs. 66,661. With new price of Rs. 59,990 we can see more of these modern yet retro styled scooters on the roads. The new price is effective starting from January 2013.

According to Ravi Chopra, MD Piaggio India “The company has not reduced the price but optimised it based on the cost efficiencies it has achieved. The cost benefit would be between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 8,000 depending on the taxes in different parts of the country.”

According to him, within eight months of its launch in India, Vespa has garnered a warm response across the country with more than 120,000 enquiries and sales of 25,000 vehicles till date.

With the launch of the Vespa scooters in India, many scooter enthusiasts have also begun to restore the old Vespa’s which were sold under the Bajaj and LML brands. The Vespa is built on a Monocoque full steel body construction and is manufactured at the Baramati plant in Maharashtra.
