Fiat Grande Punto 90HP launch & press release

With high power comes the true driving experience. Keeping in mind this very thought, Fiat India today unveiled its latest offering in the premium hatchback segment: the Fiat Grande Punto 90HP MULTIJET. Armed with a 1.3 litre Multijet engine, powered by a Variable Geometry Turbocharger, the car will be India’s most powerful diesel hatchback.
Already setting the standard with its gorgeous looks and style, the Grande Punto 90 HP MULTIJET is poised to power through the competition and create a new benchmark for diesel hatchbacks in India. The Punto 90 HP MULTIJET’s engine will provide drivers with ‘class leading’ power of 93 PS and torque of 209 NM along with excellent drive dynamics – Ride, Handling, Braking and also superior fuel efficiency of 20km / l. The 1.3 litre MULTIJET engine, a validation of Fiat’s technological prowess, is also the only ‘locally produced’ Variable Geometry Diesel engine in this category.
The Grande Punto 90 HP MULTIJET will be priced at Rs 6.79 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Mercedes SLS launch & press release

Mercedes-Benz today launched its flagship super sports car for the Indian market: the SLS AMG. The statement from the global CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, Mr. Ola Kaellenius, encapsulated his aspirations for the product, “Today India joins the elite ranks of the first few RHD markets globally to launch this mean machine. Given the strong demand for this car, I assure you that it is really a very strong and positive statement and shows the esteem that India as a market holds for us.”
Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India: “The SLS represents the true spirit of our brand: It is “The Best or Nothing” in terms of emotion, design, racing exhilaration, path braking motorsports technology, while at the same time offering Mercedes-Benz quality, safety, and functionality. We are excited to launch the vehicle in India just a few weeks after the start of production of RHD vehicles in Germany.”
India is amongst the first right hand drive markets to launch the Gullwing super sports car within the first few weeks of its production (first RHD production : June 2010)
Since its presentation in January 2010, the SLS AMG has already achieved 10 confirmed customer bookings from India.
Fiat launches Punto 90HP

Fiat India launched a new diesel variant of its small car, Grande Punto with 90 horse power.
The more powerful Punto is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi).
The company claimed that the car, with a 1.3-litre multijet engine, would give a mileage of 20 km per litre.
The new Punto with 90 hp is around 32,500 more expensive then the 75 hp emotion pack, which is the top of the line variant.

Mercedes launch SLS AMG in India

Mercedes India launched the super sports car SLS AMG in India, priced between Rs. 2 crore and Rs. 2.5 crore. Mercedes showcased the SLS AMG at 2010 Delhi Auto expo.
“We are very excited to come with SLS in India. We have started the production couple of weeks ago in Germany, there is no time lag to launch the vehicle in India,” Mercedes Benz India Managing Director and CEO Wilfried Aulbur told reporters.
There will be a waiting period of 6-8 months to deliver the car after booking, he added.
New BMW X3 unveiled

BMW unveiled the new X3. The second generation X3 has grown in all directions.
The new X3 which also carries the F25 designation has grown in size and apparently sits on the next-generation 3-Series platform. The new X3 is taller by 12mm, 83mm longer, 28mm wider while featuring a ground clearance that is 12mm more. Wheelbase has also increased in length, by 15mm to be exact making it 2,810mm.
X3 will be available in both petrol and diesel. X3 xDrive20d which uses a 4-cylinder 2.0 liter turbo diesel which makes 184hp at 4,000 RPM and 380Nm of torque achievable between 1,750 and 2,750 RPM. The fuel efficient diesel engine allows the X3 xDrive20d to offer a fuel economy figure of 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers. More >
