Tata Nano to be launched on 23 March

Tata Motors announced the much-awaited Tata Nano popularly known as Rs. 1 lakh car will be launched at a function in Mumbai on March 23, 2009.
The cars will be on display at Tata Motors dealerships from the first week of April 2009. Bookings will commence from the second week of April 2009.
Since its unveiling on January 10, 2008, the Tata Nano has evoked an unprecedented interest in the country, with its website having recorded over 30 million hits in the past one year and the creation of over 6,000 interest groups and communities.
Tata Motors is making arrangements for the widest possible network to book the car, so that prospective customers can conveniently avail of booking facilities at their locations, across the length and breadth of India. The booking process and other details will be announced on March 23, 2009.
The Nano comes with a 2 cylinder 624cc Multi point fuel injection engines with a power output of 33 horsepower (25 Kw). The engine is placed at the rear, while the boot is located under the front hood. It will have a 4-speed manual transmission. It claims to have a fuel efficiency of 20 km/liter. The cars conforms to Euro IV emission standards which will come into effect in India in 2010.
The Nano will be avialable in 3 trim levels: Standard, Deluxe & Luxury.
State Bank of India is to be exclusive booking agent for Nano.

Honda to launch CBR 1000RR and CB1000 in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will unveil their 1000 cc range of motorcycles in India. Two motorcycles are expected to be unveiled. One will be the CBR 1000RR and the second will be the CB1000.
The CBR 1000 RR is the flagship motorcycle for Honda two-wheelers the world over. The Honda CBR 1000RR will go head to head with Yamaha’s R1 even in India. CBR 1000RR debuted in 2008, it represented the pinnacle of literbike performance. Brimming with MotoGP-bred DNA. The bike is equipped with ABS. The pricing is to be in the Rs. 11 – 12 lakh range.

The second motorcycle will be the CB 1000R. The CB1000R charges to the head of the Performance Naked class with an unbeatable combination of sophisticated urban styling, eye-watering performance, agile handling and endless thrill.
